Gynecological smears is gynecological examination method, carried out by scraping from the mucous membrane of the internal genital organs of women (vagina, cervix, urethra, etc.) and then studying the resulting material under a microscope. There are two types of gynecological smears:
- Smear on the flora (bacterioscopy), main purpose - diagnosis of diseases, sexually transmitted diseases;
- Smear on cytology (atypical cells), the main purpose - identifying pathologies and diagnosis of cervical cancer.
