Laser therapy

Laser therapy - physiotherapy treatment method, in which the healing effect is achieved through the use of low-intensity (low-energy) laser radiation generated by optical lasers. Due to a number of therapeutic properties of the laser, which have a beneficial effect on the body, this procedure is actively used in the treatment of various diseases.

Laser therapy procedure appeared quite recently, only in the second half of the XX century, thanks to which it is quite possible to rank it among innovative methods of treatment. Laser therapy is used in the treatment of various diseases (surgical, dental, ear, nose and throat, dermatological, neurological), and for physiotherapeutic and cosmetic purposes. Thanks to laser treatment, oxygen penetrates deep into the cells, as a result of which the regenerative processes in the body tissues are activated.

Lasers differ from each other not only in their mode of action, but also in technical parameters: in terms of the laser radiation wavelength, power, mode of action, and depth of exposure to the skin layers. In health resorts of Belarus laser therapy is common in almost all health resorts and is used in two main areas: surgical - to coagulate tissues during operations, and physiotherapy - to stimulate biological effects.

In therapeutic laser therapy low power lasers are used. Due to their properties, they do not affect the upper layers of the skin, eliminating undesirable formations at deeper levels. This type of laser therapy is actively used for tissue edema, muscle pain, impaired blood microcirculation, reduced immunity, and so on.

In surgical laser therapy high power lasers are used that visibly affect and change the state of the tissues. During the procedure, the surface layers of the skin are removed on a certain area and depth, or, without affecting the upper layers of the skin, they change and restore the deeper layers. This procedure helps to rid the skin of scars, scars, eliminate pigment spots, eliminate neoplasms, moles, papillomas, even out wrinkles, skin color of the face, neck.

Laser radiation penetrates into the tissue rather deeply - by 9-12 centimeters, providing a local and general stimulating effect. In this regard, physiotherapists use a laser apparatus to treat the joints of the spine, legs and arms. Proved the effectiveness of laser therapy in the treatment of radiculitis, osteoarthritis, gout, and even with herniated intervertebral discs.
