Preventive dentistry
Preventive dentistry is a treatment and diagnosis of teeth and oral cavity diseases without surgical interventions. The task of the doctor is not only the elimination of the disease, but also the restoration of damaged tissues. The quality of the sanation of foci of infection in the oral cavity largely determines the health of the whole human body.
The main objectives of preventive dentistry are the treatment of simple and complicated caries. Caries is a pathological process that appears itself in the destruction of hard tissues of the tooth (enamel and dentin) under the influence of acids, which are producted by the vital activity of oral microorganisms. The causes of caries can be wrong oral hygiene, heredity, the state of the organism as a whole (immune, digestive system, etc.), poor diet, and stress. Signs of caries are dark plaque, rough tooth surface, painful reaction to sweet and sour, hot and cold; bad breath and others. Late treatment can lead to serious consequences - pulpitis or the complete destruction of the tooth.
Treatment of caries is to remove the affected part of the tooth and restore it with a filling. Complicated caries is treated, as a rule, in two stages - first, a temporary filling is put, then a permanent filling. If caries has arisen under the filling, X-rays are used for the diagnosis. Modern materials allow you to fully restore the tooth and achieve excellent cosmetic results.
In addition to caries treatment, you can get the following dental services in the health resorts in Belarus:
