Rectal tampons are intended for local action and consist of plastic, fibrous material, the special strips of a matter (silk) impregnated with medicinal substance.

For convenience of introduction rectal tampons, as a rule, cover with fat. As a plastic, fibrous material use various products, for example the collagen impregnated with a medicine.

Now rectal tampons are used in proctology for removal of pains and an inflammation of mucous membrane of a rectum, long fixing of medicinal substance in certain area of rectum.
